Goal of the Project

Did you meet your program goals for the grant period?

If yes, how do you know? Please describe any program evaluation you use:

If no, please describe current barriers and how you are working to overcome them:

We met our grant program results by assuring that participants became competent in using the devices provided and per their participation in virtual programing using the devices.

Do you have a story of how your program positively changed participant's situation, behavior, or knowledge?

If so, please share it:

Catherine was feeling isolated while or program was closed due to the pandemic. Even though she could call our program and talk with staff, and we would drop off groceries and the lunches we made, she lacked purposeful activity and felt a loss of connection. When Catherine was provided with a smart phone, a data plan and some initial instruction, she immediately engaged in our virtual programing. Catherine took part in our daily zoom sessions, with her favorite being "Thoughtful Thursdays" where she shared poetry. Catherine said that she was reassured to see the faces and hear the voices of multiple peers and staff. By the conclusion of the data plan months provided by the grant, Catherine had worked out a way to budget for her data and I took her to the Cricket Store to have her phone switched over to her own plan and she continues to participate in our zoom meetings.

Sustainability

Will this project continue?

If so, how will it be funded?

If not, why not?

Participants may retain the smart phones if they are participating in our virtual programing.
