Project Description:
We are committed to run a program this summer that gets school-age girls outside, moving, learning and laughing together, and regaining normalcy in their lives.

Participants are registered for the Girls Golf program by their parents on our website. No selection process is required. Financial aid is requested during the registration process. We are grateful to to be able to satisfy 100% of our scholarship requests through the Jeffrey P. Mathews Scholarship Fund.
What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?
We offer girls the opportunity to learn a co-ed sport in a single-sex environment that is free from distraction and intimidation. Our goal is not only to teach them the game of golf, but more importantly to help them gain self-confidence, responsibility and power. The girls we teach today will be the self-sufficient, contributing women of their communities tomorrow.
How will you evaluate or measure your success:
When you meet a First Tee Girls Golf participant or alumna, she will look you in the eye, shake your hand firmly and exhibit poise and confidence. Ask her what she's up to! She may be a high school or college golfer, but she is just as likely to talk to you about her upcoming music performance, her ice hockey team, astrophysics program or babysitting job. These young women are out there, making a difference wherever their interests lead them. We are proud to have given them just a few of the powerful tools they carry in their toolboxes.
