Project results and Impact
How many girls/women have been served by the project during this project year?
33 girls were tutored throughout the year. Of those 33, we had beginning and ending test scores for 29 girls. Of those 29, 24 improved their scores by more than 6%. Of those 24, 14 are at or above their grade level and will be off the Reading Improvement Plan next school year, that is a 48% graduation rate.

We reviewed test scores; parent survey; tutor survey in evaluating our program. Tutors responded stating that at least 75% of their students are more confident readers and 65% think their students are closer to grade level after the program. 90% of parents felt their child is a more confident reader and the other 10% stated that the confidence level in reading remained the same. 77% of parents stated their child reads more at home now. 84% stated that their child is more comfortable in the library and 71% stated their book borrowing has increased.
