Project results and Impact
How many girls/women have been served by the project during this project year?
We predicted this would be challenging to quantify. However, we do have some stats to share from our marketing team.
From Jan 1-April 23 of this year, our breastfeeding webpage has received 270 views; the average engagement time is 1 min 50sec which our marketing team reports is a significant amount of time in comparison with some of our other pages. Our WIC page has received 492 views. Our breastfeeding posts on our agency FB page show the following stats:

GSC also provided us with 115 milk pitchers, 120 Haakaa pumps, and 3,000 milk storage bags to give to clients.

In addition to our marketing campaign, we collaborated with the GSC. GSC purchased items for us to provide lactation support kits; the items included a glass pitcher for milk storage, milk storage bags, and Haakaa silicone breast pumps. Clients have been so grateful and expressed so much excitement over the items they are receiving to support their breastfeeding journeys.
Do you have a story of how your program positively changed participant's situation, behavior, or knowledge?

Raising awareness of our program and the support that is available will benefit our communities for years to come. Ensuring our rural population knows how to get connected & where to find support is crucial. Clients love the items they receive through our partnership with GSC and the items provide a unique opportunity to provide additional education and resources. Most of the clients who have received the lactation support kits struggle to afford the items we provided.

If not, why not?
We plan to continue this project now that the foundation has been built. Many of the items we purchased are sustainable (i.e. retractable vinyl posters) and our social media presence will remain stronger.
Public Relations
How did you publicize this grant?

The breastfeeding support team presented at staff meetings 5 times last year and we talked about the Hestia grant and the importance of boosting community support and awareness during at least 3 of the meetings. The information was included in our HDNW Insider newsletter as well. At outreach events our posters were displayed and we sing the praises of Hestia when sharing the lactation support kits with clients.
