Project Description:

We would like to continue providing feminine products to women and girls in our community. The pantry offers a variety of products to cover all age groups and personal needs. These include pantyliners, menstrual pads, tampons, bladder control pads and depends style undergarments.

Goal of the Project

How many people will you reach?

200

What percentage are female?

100

If your program serves both males and females, how will Hestia funds specifically target women and girls?

NA

How are recipients identified or selected to receive services?  Is financial need considered?

All female clients that shop at the pantry can select these products. There are no restrictions. Our clients are still shopping via "curbside service" and we hope to return to in person shopping this summer. All of the feminine products are listed on a pre-order form and can be selected that way or are offered when they drive up to receive their groceries.

What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?

Providing feminine care products to our female clients of all ages can provide a level of personal well-being and dignity. Whether in school, the workplace, or elsewhere, this can provide greater self-confidence and comfort. Our young girls can participate in their education or other activities more fully when not worried about having proper protection or missing school altogether when they have their period. Women facing food insecurity are able to focus their dollars towards food, knowing they do not have to forgo their own personal needs.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:

We have seen success the past 2 years with this program thanks to Hestia Women's Giving Circle. The women and girls of our community have been very grateful to have the variety of feminine products available to them depending on their personal needs. When we open again for in person shopping we think there will be an even greater demand.
