Project Description:

We are looking to fund purchasing a Macbook Pro 13 laptop and USB microscope which would allow our staff members to expand our curriculum, meet office managing needs, attend virtual training, and support nature applications to utilize with our students. With more advanced technology we would stay up to date on office management demands, enrollment, and parent communications while also having the ability to research nature around us; identify plants, animals, and other native species, to allow for more immersive learning for our students. In addition, our staff would be able to attend virtual training to meet state licensing requirements and expand forest and nature schooling that is available online.

Goal of the Project

How many people will you reach?

6

What percentage are female?

100

If your program serves both males and females, how will Hestia funds specifically target women and girls?

Our staff of 6 is all female and would be most impacted by the upgraded technology. However, we also have a mix of male and female students who would benefit from the advanced knowledge of the teachers as well as the application programs available for studying nature.

How are recipients identified or selected to receive services?  Is financial need considered?

Recipients of this grant would be our current staff members. We would be able to advance the knowledge of all six of our current staff members through this grant and expand our nature curriculum.

What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?

We hope to gain knowledge and innovative ideas for the classroom, maintain an organized and functioning office to support us as we grow our preschool. By allowing our staff to receive continuing education, they will develop new and unique approaches to the way our preschool helps shape the youth of our community. By offering these opportunities to our PCN staff we encourage and support the advancing of women in our field. We hope to grow our staff and our preschool which would allow for more financial stability for our female employees.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:

We will implement the new ideas we have learned through training directly into the teachings at our school. We would be able to provide lesson plans and activities that are created and developed through ideas learned through the training and hands-on experience and incorporate nature applications into our weekly lessons.
