Goal of the Project

How many people will you reach?

250

What percentage are female?

100

If your program serves both males and females, how will Hestia funds specifically target women and girls?

N/A

How are recipients identified or selected to receive services?  Is financial need considered?

Any female client who shops at the pantry may select these feminine products. There are no restrictions. Any person in need of food may shop at the pantry. We do ask for a name and address for our records and number in the household.

What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?

Providing feminine care products to our female clients of all ages can give them a level of personal well-being. Whether at school, in the workplace or home, knowing that they have the products they need can provide greater self-confidence and comfort. Our younger girls can participate in their school activities more fully when not worried about having proper protection or missing school altogether when they have their menstrual period. Our senior women have comfortable bladder protection items available to them. Women facing food insecurity are able to focus their dollars towards food, knowing they do not have to forgo their own personal needs.
Through this grant Good Neighbors Food Pantry is helping to address the reality of period poverty for women and girls in our community.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:

This program has been very successful for the past 3 years thanks to the grant from Hestia Women's Giving Circle. The women and girls of our community have been very grateful to have this variety of feminine products available to them. We have seen an increase in the selection of tampons.
We are excited to open our doors to in-person shopping once again June 6th after 3 years of offering curbside service! We know that the program has been very successful to this date and anticipate a further increase in demand.
