Project Description:
We will be hosting a dance troupe of women who perform Hawaiian and Tahitian Dances from a group out of the Detroit area. Also we will be hosting women artists who create banners and art related to Water experiences and engagement. The women's banner artist coordinator/leader is out of Wisconsin and a member of a tribal nation.

The funds will enable us to host all of these women and bring a significant cultural and art form perhaps never seen or heard on the shores of the Great Lakes. The dance troup encourages others to participate and try the dances as part of their performance.
How are recipients identified or selected to receive services? Is financial need considered?
Water Life of Fesitval attendees in the past have represented families from across northern Michigan. As stated above the funds will enable us to host all of these women and bring a significant cultural and art form perhaps never seen or heard on the shores of the Great Lakes. The dance troupe encourages others to participate and try the dances as part of their performance.
What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?
The Water is Life Festival hopes to share the importance of youth participating in cultural traditions and encourage women and girls to participate. This is directly in line with Hestia's mission statement to promote well-being in women and girls.
How will you evaluate or measure your success:
The Water is Life Festival collects feedback from participants via surveys and testimonials from attendees.
