Project Description:

This project is to help obtain equipment for our cheer member to further develop their cheer skills and build confidence in their abilities. Currently many of our members are unable to participate in activities like tumbling classes due to financial costs and location of classes. Many of these skills are necessary for advancing in their cheer levels and being able to grow in their confidence and ability. Being able to purchase basic equipment will allow us to work with them, help them master skills, and put them on a more even playing field with other groups. We want to make sure that we are able to give them the opportunity to develop without them being discouraged sure to family situations that are out of their control. We know that are programs involves a large area of economically disadvantaged youth, but we want to help give them the opportunity that they may not be able to receive without our help.

Goal of the Project

How many people will you reach?

25

What percentage are female?

25

If your program serves both males and females, how will Hestia funds specifically target women and girls?

This grant is specifically for the cheer portion of our youth program. Historically our cheer team has been completely female, and all of our coaches are female too.

How are recipients identified or selected to receive services?  Is financial need considered?

The equipment and training will be open to all of our program cheer members. We do not hold tryouts and everyone is included.

What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?

We hope that we are able to get the equipment necessary and make sure that everyone in the program has the chance to improve their skills. By doing this, their confidence will grow and that will feel empowered in knowing that anything is possible. All of our coaches are volunteer, and they are here for the youth in our program, not because they are getting paid.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:

We will be able to see the confidence grow in each child as they develop their skills. From start of season to the end, the growth will be felt by the girls, and it will show in the routines they perform in front of others.
