Project Description:

Provide feminine products for women and girls on a weekly basis. We provide a variety of products in order to meet the needs of all age groups. The products we offer include panty liners, menstrual pads, tampons, bladder control pads and Depends style undergarments.

Goal of the Project

How many people will you reach?

350

What percentage are female?

100

If your program serves both males and females, how will Hestia funds specifically target women and girls?

While our program does include men and women, 100% of the Hestia Grant would be used for women's feminine products.

How are recipients identified or selected to receive services?  Is financial need considered?

We do not have any restrictions of our clientele other than providing their name and phone number. Any person that is in need in our community may shop with us on a bi-weekly basis. We do let all clients know that if the biweekly shopping is not enough, they are able to come weekly. We believe no one should be hungry due to financial challenges.

What do you hope to achieve? What difference will this make in the lives of women and girls?
How will this project meet Hestia's mission statement?

For our women and girls having access to feminine products is important to their sense of dignity and comfort. Our young girls are better able to participate in school activities and sports with the proper feminine products. Our senior clients with bladder challenges are incredibly thankful to receive bladder control pads and/or Depends products. With this grant our clients are able to focus their available funds on food and other necessary items. This grant from Hestia is a big help with the issue of poverty in our community.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:

Our success is seen each week as our women shop for themselves and their daughters. Young women continually thank us for providing feminine products which they are not able to afford. We will provide Hestia with a spreadsheet of number of clients served and a spending report each month.
