Project Description:
The ROX Girls Program is a weekly, girls' group designed to help girls develop supportive relationships, navigate the complex challenges they face during the critical adolescent years. The ROX curriculum is proactive, comprehensive, and evidence-based. ROX provides girls with a safe environment to explore new approaches to navigate difficult relationships, develop conflict management skills, establish healthy boundaries and personal safety skills, to learn how to manage stress, pressure, and coercion, and to increase confidence. In the summer/fall of 2025 Deidra Gamble (PHS Principal), Rebekah Pedersen (Alcona Health Center, Behavioral Therapist) and Katie Frentz (School Counselor) received training and subsequently implemented three ROX groups at PHS. District will pay for the students participation fee, we are looking for funds for supplement team building activities and supplies to continue the program. Having additional funds will allow us to increase engagement and participation.

How will you evaluate or measure your success:
The ROX organization is deeply rooted in research and uses extensive pre- and post-test assessments to measure program effectiveness. Every girl who participates in a ROX Program completes an online assessment survey at the start and end of the program and the data is analyzed and reported out in aggregate by an independent data analytics organization. Instrumentation includes valid and reliable psychometric instruments that assess self-esteem, sense of belongingness and school connectedness. The comprehensive assessment focuses on program learning and growth, specific skill acquisition and behavioral changes. Every school that implements a ROX Program receives a data outcomes report, highlighting the impacts and outcomes of the ROX Program for Girls.
