Hestia Grant Supports Medical Assistant Students at North Central
A $4,000 grant from the Hestia Women's Giving Circle has provided a significant boost to the educational journeys of three students in North Central Michigan College's (NCMC) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Fast Track program. According to Miranda Fisher, Gift Officer for the North Central Michigan College Foundation, the scholarship funds have been fully awarded to women pursuing a career in the medical field.
The CMA program is often the first step in a student’s path toward a long-term medical career, with many graduates advancing to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) programs. The fast-track option offers a six-month, intensive curriculum that gets students career-ready quickly. "They're already interested in the medical field... and this program allows them to make greater wages and fulfill their dreams," Fisher said.
The college's Fast Track programs lead to valuable, industry-specific certifications designed to meet local employer requirements, helping students stand out in a competitive job market.
On behalf of the NCMC Foundation, Fisher expressed deep gratitude for Hestia's support of the students in the CMA program. Hestia representatives will be invited to attend the graduation ceremony to see the direct impact of their support.
